Two-year jail for embezzlement

DUBAI - The Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday sentenced an Egyptian national and accountant to two years in prison for embezzling Dh110,000 from his employer's account and fleeing the country. The accused, Y.M.F., 31, stole Dh2,000 in cash and his employer's cheque book in June last year. The accused also forged his boss' signature on four cheques and used them to withdraw money from the company account. After that he packed his belongings and returned to Egypt on June 9.
